Orry is a third generation Hickory breeding ... he's an Aurora son (x Volmar), a Tucker and Seri Grandson, and a Bayley Great-Grandson.. Tucker gets his Rally Novice Obedience title and the first leg towards his Companion Dog obedience title. Ch Hickory's All Tuckered Out wasn't too tuckered out to perform in March. Cooper (Alinghi x Tucker) prelims with OFA Good Hips and Normal elbows at 20 months of age. 16 November 2007: The home page was updated with a photo of original 3 Hickory Kids and in Memory of Einstein Baer. Yesterday we had to help a dear friend leave this life and cross the Rainbow Bridge where Curie and Seri were waiting for him. I take comfort in knowing that the original 3 Hickory Kids have been reunited and that Einstein is currently being bossed around by Curie and Seri is pestering him like all good little sisters do. I'm sure he is loving every minute of it! Today is a new day in the Hickory House and marks the start of a new era of sorts. Our first three berners, Curie Marie, Einstein Baer and Seri have left us but they will always remain in our hearts and never be forgotten. Einstein and Seri's legacies will live on through their children and grandchildren. Curie never had children but her spirit and memory will live on and none of them can or ever will be forgotten. These wonderful creatures add so much to our lives. They give us all they have to give and they give their love freely, wholeheartedly with no strings attached. They do not judge, gossip, or speak badly of anyone. Many people could learn a lot from their dogs and the world would be a better place if people lived by the examples set by our canine companions.
November OFA results: Aurora's final xrays come back with Good rated hips and Normal elbows. Karma and her littermate Angus (Bayley x Volmar) prelim with Good hips and Normal elbows and Vienna (Alinghi x Volmar) also prelims with Good hips and Normal elbows. 19 October OFA results: Cooper's (Hickory's Little Deuce Coupe) final OFA's come in: Cooper previously xrayed with OFA Excellent Hips but his vet did not do his elbows so they were xrayed this fall and they came back as Normal/Unaffected. Cooper is the last of the dogs from the Bayley x Ivan litter to be xrayed. All dogs this litter came back with Excellent or Good Hips and all came back with Normal/Unaffected Elbows with the exception of one dog that had Prelim normal/unaffected elbows but per the OFA website, appears not to have final elbow clearances. Regardless, the results for this litter with 100 percent being xrayed have been well above the breed average and an exceptionally strong litter for orthopedics. Ch Hickory's All Tuckered Out (Tucker) seems to passing this on to his offspring as his daughter, Jura (Ch Hickory's Jura Claire de Lune), out of Ch Seri, just finalled with OFA EXCELLENT Hips and Normal/Unaffected Elbows. While he will reside full time on Elaine's couch in Mississippi, he will make an occasional appearance in the ring as a special and begin working on his Obedience and other titles. With Elaine's help, we know this boy will have letters on both sides of his name ... they make a great team!
