Barolo von den Silberbären

Barolo came to us from the Silberbaeren kennel in Austria. His dam was a dog from Belgium named Belscarlett van't Beertjeshof. Sadly, Belscarlett died during a C-Section having Barolo's litter so he and his littermates were handraised. Barolo's father is an Austrian dog, Isaak von den Alten Holz.

Barolo's pedigree is packed full of typey and long-lived dogs. Belscarlett has the same Grandsire as Seri, Gill Gillian v.d. Buut Vrij Hoeve. Isaak goes back to some of the same dogs that Tucker and Duesey's father, Ivanhoe vom Schaffersgrund, goes back to .... Holm v Haus Mielke, in particular who lived to be 17 years 2 months old!

Barolo is a very happy and outgoing boy. He is a lovely "old style" Berner in type with good bone, great breadth of body, a strong head, solid topline, and amount and length of coat usually only found in older neutered males.

Barolo lives with our friend Penny and her two teenage sons. He loves his new home, is very devoted to his Mom and he enjoys hanging out with his two human brothers.

Barolo has only been shown a few times but he recently placed fourth in a very large and competitive Open Dog class at the Sierra West Fall Regional Specialty. We will likely get him out in the show ring more in the spring and summer.

Much gratitude goes out to Elisabeth and Emanuel Bernhard for sharing this special boy with us. Check back for show updates and hopefully photos of Barolo puppies in the future.
